    Good

It's very comfortable to be lieve us alone. The room is clean and quiet in the nature near the Daiya river. We can walk to the World Heritage and local spa "Yashio no yu",too. It's also good to take a bath in the Hotori-an, which is a thermal spa.

I hope there is a teakettle in each room.

    Fabulous

Nice hotel, close to most sightseeing points and bus station. There is a little onsen in the hotel.

In spite of rather scenic view around the hotel, there is also a cemetery-view from the window of our room, so my wife wasn't excited of this...

    Fabulous

Very friendly english speaking staff, who could not help us enough during our first night in Japan. Lovely quiet location with river views. Enjoyed our first onsen bath which also overlooks river. Would recommend to others.

    Superb

Loved the location by the river with the onsen overlooking the river through big windows. It was also very handy, yet quiet and peaceful, not right in the hustle and bustle of Nikko. The breakfast was fantastic. My mother commented particularly on the cleanliness of the place. Staff were great.

Location was beautiful, breakfast was very nice, loved the onsen.

Room a little on the small side but comfortable and quiet.

    Fabulous

The hotel is in a really quiet place, in walking distance from the World Heritage area, but a little isolated. The staff was very kind and helpful everytime I needed to ask something. The room (traditional) was big, with tv and air-conditioning, by the riverside. There is also the chance to use the private onsen, at the end of a sightseeing day it's the best you can wish for! I also asked for breakfast, a little expensive in my opinion, but it was really good (there were an egg, many slices of bread, seasonal fruits, and coffee, juice, green tea, water...).

It's a little isolated from everything else, but still 10 minutes by walk from the World Heritage area.

    Exceptional

The hotel was really lovely, in the river side (you can sleep with the sound of the river). Big room with TV, air conditioning and bathroom. Helpful and pleasant staff, they speak a bit of english. The hotel has an onsen with river views which you can use in private. It was 15 minutes walking from the main temples and 5 minutes walking from the principal street of Nikko.

They didn't clean up our room but we didn't ask why, maybe we had to ask for it, but it was ok for us.

Breakfast is not healthy, lots of carbohydrate with little protein.

    Very good

Small friendly b&B. English speaking host made me very welcome and advised about local area. Breakfast is normally chargeable but at time of my stay it was included foc as a special promotion.

Location is on the edge of town so slightly isolated; not a problem if you enjoy walking. Also Nikko itself is no hot-spot - trying to find somewhere for dinner; let alone somewhere with more than 1 or 2 customers was a real task and the whole town seemd dead come 8 pm. Although I would qualify this by saying I was there off-season so I don't know how typical my experience was.

    Very good

Overall impression: good value for money Conveniently located and the private onsen was nice.

    Very tiny toilet/shower

    Fabulous

Very nice staff, respect of japanese traditions and great view and position on the river, very comfortable.

Very small bathroom, but I never found a traditional japanese room with bigger bathroom.
